As a company we took part in this year’s Great British Beach Clean run by the Marine Conservation Society. This is a voluntary beach clean that falls on the 3rd weekend in September every year and is made up of hundreds of beach cleans across the country.
The Marine Conservation Society’s (MCS) events not only help to clean up our much-loved coast but the survey work that is done during these cleans contributes to a worldwide report on litter levels. MCS analyses the data and uses the results to raise awareness of pollution and tackle it at source for example helping the government create legislation about the use of plastic bags and single use plastic.
It was a great team building day out and really rewarding to feel like we were helping in some way to keep the beaches clean and litter out of the ocean. We are hoping to be back next year to do the same!
